Installing Zone Alarm

It is common now to install a third party firewall, such as Zone Alarm, on your computer.  But before you install it, you need to make a simple check to save yourself a headache later.

 

The first thing you need to do is make sure you turn off windows firewall.  This is crucial, because not doing so can cause Internet Explorer to stop functioning.  Once this is done you can go ahead with the installation of Zone Alarm.

 

If you've already installed Zone Alarm without shutting off windows firewall, it can be very difficult to completely remove the program from your computer.
